Job Description:

The Analyst role is a support role within the NRG Business team. The goal of this position is to learn the basics of processing, offering and closing a deal. Analysts will learn to manage the business process for energy transactions from start to finish with account setup, pricing, and closing being the primary responsibilities of the position. Success in this position hinges on superb communication skills, teamwork skills, ability to multi task, time management skills and ability to learn deal closing / customer communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Process / facilitate requests for deal setup, pricing, structuring and contracting
  • Communicates clearly with internal team members
  • Responsible for the quality and timely completion of deal processing
  • Responsible for developing proficiency in internal sales / operational processes and systems
  • Responsible for developing a working knowledge of simple deals (products/contract structures)
  • Perform customer research and or contact customers, as requested by Managers
  • Ad hoc projects as required

About the Jump the Fence Program at NRG Energy
JTFR has a long-standing relationship with NRG in supporting its efforts to transform the energy industry and has changed the lives of its participants by offering continued support, training, and opportunities for advancement. The Jump the Fence program at NRG is designed as a pathway for recent graduates interested in the energy space to learn from and work alongside professionals in the industry.

During the first 6-to-8 months, successful candidates will work full-time in one of NRG’s offices but will be employed by and compensated by JTFR. Candidates will participate in a 5-week, comprehensive training program in-person at NRG’s Houston, Texas headquarters, after which they may stay in person either in Houston or, if appropriate, another location. JTFR will provide a highly competitive salary, a signing bonus, quarterly bonuses, a travel stipend, and housing.

Throughout the initial 6-to-8-month employment period with JTFR, candidates will have the opportunity to experience the inner workings of NRG —learning from both leaders and current employees who “jumped the fence” through this program.

Various full-time positions within NRG Business may be available in sales, trading and related data analytics, sales support operations, etc.

Note: JTFR is accepting resumes of candidates who either a) are U.S. citizens or b) have Curricular Practical Training (“CPT”) work authorization as a current student or Optional Practical Training (“OPT”) work authorization as a recent graduate and will require TN visa sponsorship following OPT expiration. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept candidates requiring H-1B visa sponsorship at this time.
